TIAC’s commitment to the initiative accounts for year-round actions intended to advance Women in Tourism. Our female lead organization, incorporates gender targets in governance, as well as in recruitment, and as a result, TIAC events and activities follow a clear directive on gender parity. For this year’s Congress, from panelists to keynote, gender parity goals are being met, proudly offering event attendees the opportunity to learn from and mingle with noted industry experts and panelists that reflect the diversity of backgrounds and opinions that will drive tourism forward.
On an international level, this year, the WTTC released a special report on Women in Tourism, in which, concrete data and policies to support the advancement of women are outlined, on a North American level, TIAC’s CEO, Charlotte Bell, represents us at the Women Supporting Women networking group and annual conference, and on a national level, TIAC ensures our events and outreach activities are true testament to Advancing women in Tourism, and continues to support the Catalyst Accord.
About the Catalyst Accord
The Catalyst Accord 2022 calls on Canadian boards and CEOs to pledge to accelerate the advancement of women in business through these actions:
- Increase the average percentage of women on boards and women in executive positions in corporate Canada to 30% or greater by 2022.
- Share key metrics with Catalyst for annual benchmarking of our collective progress.
