TORONTO, ON, March 16, 2015 - Today, Andrew Lind, Chair of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada's Board of Directors released the following statement:
"On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Charlotte Bell as President and CEO of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) effective April 9, 2015."
With more than 25 years of experience in regulatory, corporate and government affairs, Charlotte is a seasoned executive bringing a wealth of experience and proven track record of success leading regulatory change in the broadcast sector.
As an experienced advisor and advocate, Charlotte spearheaded regulatory and public affairs strategies leading to successful acquisitions of major media properties and was pivotal in obtaining policy and regulatory reform in the broadcast industry by building strategic partnerships and alliances. She also more recently led Corporate Affairs strategies for Atlantic Lottery Corporation overseeing stakeholder and community relations as well as corporate reputation.
Charlotte takes over the helm of TIAC at a time of challenging and evolving public policy combined with increased global competition in the travel sector. While travel and tourism is among the highest performing sectors of the global economy, Canada has not kept pace with worldwide growth due to a variety of competitive, structural and public policy issues.
I would like to publicly thank the dedicated members of the search committee Chaired by Patrick Kelly and the team of experts at Boyden Ottawa for a thorough and successful search process.
