TIAC Talk Articles > The Canadian Tourism Awards Celebrated the Industry to the Fullest!
Celebrating all that Canada has to offer
With record attendance and Canada 150 buzz in the air, this year's Canadian Tourism Awards, presented by the Toronto Star, was a ceremony to remember! For the second year, delegates were treated to a special "cross-Canada" menu, carefully curated and presented by Rebecca Mackenzie of the Culinary Tourism Alliance. On the menu were local delicacies from Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta.
We would like to once again congratulate all the Canadian Tourism Award winners and finalists! Each year we are truly amazed at the impressive nominations and the wide diversity of experiences Canada has to offer. TIAC would like to thank the Members of Parliament in attendance as well as the Minister for Small business and Tourism, the Honourable Bardish Chagger, the Minister of National Revenue, the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier and the Minster of Canadian Heritage, the Honourable Mélanie Joly who presented the Canada 150 Diversity award.
TIAC would like to give a special congratulations to the 2017 Tourism Toronto Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Walter Oster. Oster, former Chairman & CEO of the Canadian National Sportsmen's Shows has been a part of the tourism industry for over 40 years, including his long influential tenure at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
