New Memorandum of Understanding Between TIAC/Tourism HR Canada Signals Growing Partnership
Earlier this month the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) and Tourism HR Canada (THRC) signed an MOU that leverages the strength of both national organizations to better meet the needs of tourism operators and employers across the country.
TIAC brings a proven track record as a strong advocate of Canadian tourism businesses by promoting and supporting policies, programs and activities that lead to industry growth, development and competitiveness globally.
THRC bring over 20 years of labour market research expertise, training and credentialing to the partnership.
While the two organizations have worked closely together for over two decades, this MOU formalizes some existing practices and offers new reciprocal activities that play to the strength of each organization.
A key component of the new agreement is having the two organizations present an integrated approach in disseminating crucial labour market data to as broad a tourism audience as possible.
This will be achieved through:
- coordinated messaging to all stakeholders
- co-branded research and labour market data disseminated to both organization’s audiences
Additionally, TIAC members will now have free access to labour market summary reports as well as 20% discount on Emerit training and certification products through THRC’s learning management system Emerit.ca. Members can visit TIAC Members Area to access the Emerit.ca discount code
Tourism HR Canada will benefit from the larger audience and distribution network that TIAC has grown, allowing greater dissemination of timely, accurate and critically important labour market information that is needed by all tourism operators in Canada.
As this partnership grows, both organizations will continue to seek new and innovative ways to support one another, all the while making sure that we are collectively providing Canada’s tourism sector with the resources, advocacy and shared vision to foster growth.
Stay tuned for updates on this important initiative!
