Since the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), your National Voice, has advocated for support and survival of the Visitor Economy and its full suite of sectors.

TIAC has fought for greater and continued support and relief.  We have led the conversation on a seamless and coordinated approach to vaccination certification; implemented a national campaign to embrace domestic travel, and championed the reopening of the US/Canada land border to American tourists.   We have elevated the challenges and issues facing our hardest-hit industry and maintained the media narrative on tourism pandemic concerns.

It's been a long and hard road and we have seen improvements such as enhanced Federal Budget measures; an expanded Tourism Relief Fund, the extension of Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) and Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy (CERS).  The reopening of the border to fully vaccinated Americans has become a reality and soon we will see borders open to all fully vaccinated travellers.   Our efforts have made a difference but our work is far from over.

While we continue to advocate for the current needs of our industry during this crisis, we are also implementing a comprehensive election strategy to ensure the economic value, needs and concerns of the sector are understood by all Federal Parties.  We will raise our sector profile as an essential economic generator for Canada.

This is our commitment to Industry; we know you are struggling and we are doing our best to deliver solutions. However, as a not-for-profit organization, we need your help, we can't do this without you.

TIAC is only supported through investment by members, partners and non dues revenue generated by events such as our annual Tourism Congress.   The TIAC's Team is a group of eleven (11) dedicated and passionate individuals with a supportive volunteer Board of Directors and industry advisory committees who continue to work day and night for the industry.

If you are not a TIAC Member, please consider joining and ensuring we can continue to work to help you survive and thrive.
