On January 27, 2020 TIAC President and CEO, Charlotte Bell and Vince Accardi, TIAC Vice-President of Stakeholder Relations and Business Development represented tourism at the annual EI Commissioner Employer Forum held in Gatineau. The gathering brings together leaders from all industry sectors and Government representatives for a full day of exchanges on labour issues, led by Commissioner Judith Andrew, the agenda also included a round table discussion with the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion the Hon Carla Qualtrough.

Advocating for tourism, TIAC addressed the labour shortage that continues to impact industry and reinstated recommended policies required to advance it such as; a path to immigration for all streams and for all skill levels that include hospitality, immigration streams that meet labour market needs at all skill levels and implementation of federal funded, skill and capacity programs that prioritize tourism jobs.
