On July 11, TIAC attended the Beyond Pre-Clearance event in Ottawa. Vancouver International Airport Vice President, Federal Government Affairs, Gerry Bruno, discussed their proposed biometric initiative.
The aim of the project is to transform the traveller experience using biometrics to simplify the travel experience, improve efficiency and reduce long-term costs.
Biometric enabled travel is a hot topic in the industry now.
It will also be the focus of a keynote speech at TIAC's upcoming Congress on The Known Travel Project, which explores the possibilities of technology to make travel faster and more secure.
As usual, TIAC will keep up to date and report back to our members on new developments on biometrics.
