From October 23-24, more than 400 delegates attended the Ontario Tourism Summit 2018 (OTS18) at Caesar’s Palace in Windsor, Ontario.

The summit focused on opportunities and barriers to tourism growth in Ontario. There were engaging sessions & speakers on a host of topics including labour, cannabis, tourism careers, technology and indigenous tourism.

Highlights:

• TIAO and Indigenous Tourism Ontario (ITO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding;

• Tech-Talks provided insights on innovation and how technology is changing the game for tourism businesses and how the industry can capitalize on technology to grow business;

• There were several sessions dedicated to the issue of labour shortages, and actions the industry is taking to address them.

 The event capped off with the Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner & Ceremony.
