Tourism Business - Attraction

The Calgary Stampede is called The Greatest Outdoor Show On Earth for good reason. For 10 days every July we welcome the world to a spectacular celebration of western hospitality. Stampede Park, located in downtown Calgary, is the world’s greatest gathering of western culture.

Each year, more than 1 million visitors from across North America and around the world come to Calgary to experience the heart-stopping action the world's roughest and richest Rodeo, featuring bull riding, barrel racing, and more. The Rangeland Derby is the world’s top Chuckwagon Races, and a Stampede original, with 27 teams of horses and drivers competing. And it’s all capped off with the nightly Grandstand Show and fireworks finale that lights up the sky for all 10 days. Beyond the Grandstand, is one of Canada's largest music festivals, with five stages and 300 performers, including a slate of international country music headliners. Visitors of all ages will be entertained as they experience world-class agricultural events and adrenalin-pumping midway rides. The Elbow River Camp is where cultures come together. The First Nations peoples of Treaty Seven celebrate powwow dancing, traditional cuisine and storytelling in an encampment of 26 tipis. With something for everyone, the Stampede truly is The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth!
