The role of the Department of Tourism and Culture is to support, promote and enhance the Yukon’s tourism, culture, heritage and arts sectors for the benefit of Yukoners and visitors. The Tourism Branch, through collaboration and partnerships with the private sector, governments and other stakeholders, is responsible for destination development, research, marketing and promotion of the Yukon as a year-round visitor destination. The Tourism Branch is guided by the Yukon Tourism Development Strategy.

The branch is comprised of three operational units: * Industry Services Unit is responsible for Destination Development including designing and administering Community Tourism Destination Development funding program, Tourism Cooperative Marketing Fund, product and experiences development, research and participation in resource and land planning. * Marketing Unit markets the tourism destination providing a window into the culture and natural phenomena that compel the world to discover the Yukon. Through the lens of our Larger-than-Life brand, the Marketing Unit shares the rich culture and wonder of the Yukon through a data driven, targeted approach to destination promotion. * Visitor Services Unit is responsible for Customer Services including pre-trip and in-destination support in-person at six Visitor Information Centres located in the Yukon and online via interactive digital kiosks and other digital touchpoints.
