Canadian Museum for Human Rights

Tourism Business - Attraction

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights has a mandate “to explore human rights with special, but not exclusive, reference to Canada, to enhance the understanding of human rights, to promote respect for others and encourage reflection and dialogue.” It opened in September 2014. Stories are showcased from multiple perspectives, in remarkable ways. Exhibits include video, artefacts, art, soundscapes, mixed-media content, digital interface elements, text and oral histories. The combination of cutting-edge technology and input from the disability community set new inclusive-design standards. Fully bilingual exhibits make the Museum a natural destination for francophone audiences.
