OTTAWA, ON May 24, 2017 - Led by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), the nationwide series of Tourism Town Hall sessions start May 24th in selected cities across Canada and will be co-hosted by Destination Canada and local tourism partners.
The Town Halls provide an opportunity to engage small and medium-sized business owner operators at a local level across Canada to better understand efforts being made on national tourism issues. The Town Halls will allow owner-operators to provide first hand input on issues affecting their business and the tourism industry such as; marketing, export readiness, government policies, financing and business development. The Town Halls will provide a front-line forum exposure for governments, TIAC, Destination Canada and event sponsors to collaborate with small and medium-sized business owner operators across Canada.
"The Tourism Town Halls are a great opportunity for meaningful dialogue between small and medium sized operators and industry decision makers," stated TIAC President and CEO Charlotte Bell. "With tourism being a strong contributor to the national and provincial economies, engaging with small and medium sized owner operators at a local level is critical to our industry's long term growth."
