TIAC Talk Articles > 2018 Tourism Week ends on a high note for TIAC
TIAC headed up Tourism Week ‘Hill Day’ efforts with PTTIA and industry stakeholders, which yielded over 40 meetings with government representatives over 2 days and over 100 attendees to our Tourism Week reception including supportive remarks from the Honorable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Small Business and Tourism.
The ambitious agenda set by TIAC and supported by representatives from across Canada, delivered a unified message of core industry asks and actionable recommendations on addressing industry growth barriers relating to; labour, access, cost competitiveness and marketing funding.
Parallel to meetings on Parliament, Hill Day activities generated major buzz on social media with #tourismweek becoming a trending topic and photos from TIAC’s advocacy team being shared, liked and commented on by followers across Canada.
