Job Description / Duties

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Stakeholder Relations & Communications (VP SR&C) will be responsible for leading Pearson’s government relations, communications, sustainability and social impact, broad-based stakeholder and community engagement, passenger programs and marketing in support of the organization’s strategic objectives. As a member of the Executive Team, the VP SR&C will lead a team of about 40 individuals and influence forward-thinking management decisions that will contribute to helping build the Airport of the Future.

The ideal candidate is a strategic communications and community/stakeholder relations executive able to communicate dynamically, candidly, and persuasively drawing on more than 10 years of experience leading diverse communications functions. They have developed and implemented multi-stakeholder corporate and advocacy strategies, ideally with commercial partners and both elected and non-elected government officials and have a track record of innovation and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills. Candidates must be well-versed in strategic communications, including public engagement, issues management, brand enhancement, and digital and social media. Ideally, they bring a vision and passion for what is possible in a rapidly evolving external context as it relates to greater ESG impact, climate action and the suite of technology solutions and partnerships the world needs. Skilled in advising executives on high-profile communications, candidates should bring high energy to managing multiple projects simultaneously and relationship skills to ensure successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Fluency in French is preferred, and they must be able to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.
