Job Description / Duties
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Partnership Development:
• Identify, cultivate, and secure strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the tourism industry, including government agencies, businesses, and other associations.
• Diversify TIAC’s partnership base by identifying and establishing partnerships with non-traditional organizations to bring unique value to TIAC and the tourism industry.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing partners while actively seeking opportunities to convert partners into long-term TIAC investors.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align partnership objectives with organizational goals and initiatives.
2. Sponsorship Sales and Development:
• Identify and develop sponsorship opportunities aligned with TIAC's annual business plan, including initiatives, events, and programs.
• Create compelling sponsorship packages and proposals tailored to meet the needs and objectives of potential sponsors.
• Proactively prospect and engage potential sponsors through various channels, including networking events, industry conferences, and digital platforms.
• Negotiate sponsorship agreements and contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for both TIAC and sponsors.
• Monitor and track sponsorship performance, providing regular reports and analysis to stakeholders.
3. Revenue Generation:
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the tourism industry.
• Develop innovative revenue-generating ideas and initiatives to diversify TIAC's income streams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and execute revenue-generating projects, campaigns, and events.
4. Relationship Management:
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including members, partners, sponsors, and government representatives.
• Act as a trusted advisor and resource for partners and sponsors, providing guidance and support to enhance their engagement with TIAC.
• Represent TIAC at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote collaboration and partnership opportunities.
5. Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue targets, partnership growth, and sponsorship ROI.
• Conduct regular analysis of revenue trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making and planning.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, partnership management, or sales, preferably within the tourism or hospitality industry.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and closing strategic partnerships and sponsorship deals.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Exceptional relationship-building and networking abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
• Knowledge of the Canadian tourism industry landscape and regulatory environment is desirable.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a benefit.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through the development of strategic partnerships, identifying and developing sponsorship opportunities, selling sponsorship packages, and identifying innovative revenue-generating ideas within the tourism industry.
All candidates should note that the position is in Ottawa, working a minimum of three days a week in the office located at 180 Elgin St, Ottawa, ON.
