Job Description / Duties
Reporting to the Brand Manager, the Communications Coordinator plays a key role in achieving TIAC’s communications, advocacy, administration and member relation objectives through a broad range of activities, tools and channels. Functioning both collaboratively and independently, this team member helps to build TIACs brand and organizational profile through providing high impact communications, supporting membership activities and events and in providing administrative support.
Perform a variety of communications, administrative and event planning functions to increase the associations visibility.
• Assist in the development and delivery of communications related to the association’s initiatives around advocacy, membership and events
• Produce content for web, social and print media
• Daily media monitoring and reporting
• Develop messages to members, the public and the media
• Contribute to the development of publications and websites
• Serve as project manager with external suppliers
• Coordinate translations, revisions and concordance checks
• Participate in event planning (virtual and in person)
• Provide administrative support to senior management and association partners
• Performing other duties, as required
Qualifications / Required Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following abilities:
• An overall team player who is flexible and enjoys a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while managing competing priorities
• Proficient with social media (websites, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Proficient in communication tools such as MailChimp, Hootsuite and Google Analytics
• Attention to detail, editing and proofreading
• Motivated, creative and adaptable
• Solid team-player
• Experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Experience working with tracking tools such as Smartsheet
• Knowledge of Adobe design programs an asset (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Additional Information
Education
• A university degree / college diploma in communications, public relations, media relations or a related field is required
