Job Description / Duties

About the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC):
The Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) is the national private-sector advocate for the Canadian tourism industry. Representing small, medium, and large tourism businesses across the country, TIAC works to promote and support policies, programs, and activities that will help foster a healthy and vibrant tourism sector.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field.
• Proven experience in event planning, coordination, and execution, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, sponsors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Advanced working knowledge of Smartsheet or similar project management software, with the ability to create and manage project schedules, timelines, and task assignments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required during event periods.
• Detail oriented
• Experience developing internal processes and filing systems
• Comfortable handling confidential information
• Creative problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• Passion for the tourism industry and a commitment to promoting its growth and sustainability.
• Occasional travel within Canada to attend and support the delivery of events may be required for this position
