TIAC Talk Articles > Advocacy Days 2020 – Discovering the Visitor Economy
![]() |
On February 3rd and 4th, 2020, Parliamentarians and tourism stakeholders from across Canada joined the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) on Parliament Hill for a successful two-day event. Our “Hill Days” highlighted the economic contributions of the tourism industry under the theme “Discovering the Visitor Economy”.
Lead by Charlotte Bell, TIAC President and CEO, and David McKenna, President of Banff Jasper Collection and TIAC Board Chair, tourism leaders from across the country met with 25 Parliamentarians, presented at the all-party Parliamentary Tourism Caucus and joined TIAC staff to welcome tourism champions and stakeholders to a well-attended closing reception, which included remarks from the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, the Hon. Mélanie Joly.
With all the wins, support and engagement generated during Hill days, we are turning the next TIAC Talk into a Hill Days Special Edition – lookout for a detailed breakdown of all the work that is being done on behalf of our members. #TourismMatters
