Job Description / Duties

Position: Maintenance Technician – Landscaping (Level 1)
Location: Blue River, BC
Type: Full Time, Seasonal
Reports to: Maintenance Manager & Supervisors


Overview:
The primary role of the Maintenance Technician - Landscaping position is the maintenance of MWHS resort properties and outdoor spaces as directed by the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor. Work is to be done in a safe and professional manner as a committed member of the Maintenance Team.

Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the construction and maintenance of the following assets:
o Lawns & Natural Area
o Pathways & Parking Los
o Planting Beds & Containers
o Outdoor Structures (ie. Gazebos, bridges, decks, etc.)
2. Experienced with vehicle & equipment operation and maintenance.
3. Experienced and proficient with power & hand tools, small engines, and construction equipment.
4. Accepts ownership of organizational goals and explores opportunities to add value to the MWHS guest experience.
5. A desire to live and work in a remote setting with limited access to nearby cities.
6. Prioritization and time management skills
7. Problem solving and decision-making skills.

Requirements & Qualifications:
1. Entry level position with willingness and aptitude for learning.
2. Landscape maintenance or construction experience would be an asset.
3. A service driven individual dedicated to the guest experience and cleanliness.
4. Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and professionalism.
5. Basic computer skills; experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) an asset.
6. Valid Class 5 driver’s license; An overweight trailer endorsement would be an asset.
7. Occupational First Aid Level 1 preferred
8. Willing to work a flexible schedule coinciding with work volumes (Major snow events, emergency break-in work)
9. Attributes include strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, persuasive and positive personal image.

Work Conditions:
1. Physical ability to lift up to 75lb.
2. Travel to site and off-site locations will be required.
3. Shift is based on a 40-hour work week; 10 hours per day under an averaging agreement
4. Safety equipment and/or PPE will be required for different assigned tasks including but not limited to steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, & hearing protection.
5. Hazards associated with the trade.
6. Work both indoors and outdoors.
7. Will be exposed to construction sites.

Compensation: $19 to $21/hour plus end of season bonus
