The Tourism Industry Association of Canada is pleased to announce the arrival of several new team members, introducing what it hopes to be a prolonged period of prosperity in the wake of COVID.

Like so many of the organizations and businesses it represents, TIAC was not immune to the ravages of the pandemic, as the global health crisis brought the Canadian tourism industry to a standstill. Though COVID persists, Canadians are prudently returning to a life of normalcy—one that includes travel both within and beyond our nation’s borders.

As businesses that thrive on tourism return to full capacity, we, too, must strengthen our team to meet the demand and advocate in their name so that they and the industry they serve can flourish. It’s with this intention that we welcome six exceptional members to the team:

  • Rachael Andrews, Director, Human Resources and Internal Operations
  • Troy Baker, Communications Specialist
  • Kelsey Brown, Administrative Coordinator, Business Development and Events Management
  • Amy Butcher, Vice-President Stakeholder Relations and Engagement
  • Gavin Crisp, Content and Copywriting Specialist
  • Mitch Prudhomme, Director, Business Development

We hope to benefit from their expertise in their respective fields to better serve the 600-plus members and thousands of affiliate members from coast to coast to coast. We have also made organizational changes to streamline the efforts of our growing team. Business development, member services, and events will now be overseen by industry veteran and longtime TIAC team member Jenn Taylor. Amy Butcher, a new addition to TIAC, will manage communications and advocacy. Remaining at the helm is President & CEO Beth Potter, who has been with TIAC for over three years.
