- Negative COVID Test Required for Land Border Crossing – as of February 15
- Starting next week, anyone arriving in Canada by land will also need to show a recent negative COVID-19 test. Canadians returning to the country at a land border without a test will be fined up to $3,000.

- The Federal Government released the details of HASCAP last week.

- COVID-19 mandatory 3-night stays at hotels
- Following the January 29 announcement of enhanced testing and quarantine measures, all air travelers entering Canada will be required to take a COVID-19 molecular test on arrival, and book a 3 night stay in a hotel to await test results.

- Government Announced one-year ban for pleasure craft and cruise vessels on February 4th
- The ban will last until Feb 28th 2022.
- Residential and essential passenger vessels are exempt.
- Adventure-seeking pleasure craft are still prohibited from entering Arctic waters.
- Cruise vessels carrying 100 or more people are prohibited from Canadian waters.

- Air Canada Cuts 1,500 Jobs And 17 Routes Suspended
- Due to the introduction of mandatory quarantine on arrival, the airline is shutting down service on 17 more routes starting next week & temporarily reducing its unionized workforce.

- Flair Airlines to Expand into the Maritimes
- Flair, which bills itself as Canada's only independent low-fare airline, announced flights will begin May 1st in Halifax and Saint John, and in Charlottetown on June 4th.
- Part of a broader expansion that includes eight new Canadian destinations which was put on hold last year.

- Federal Government Expands the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund with Investment
- Expansion announced to align with increased funding through CEBA
- New applicants can no request up to $60,000 in interest fee, repayable support, up from $40,000 previously.

- Nova Scotia Tightens Newfoundland and Labrador Border
- Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia is tightening border controls.
- People entering Nova Scotia from Newfoundland and Labrador must complete the Nova Scotia Safe Check-in form before arriving and self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival.
- Travelers must respond to a daily email check-in during their 14 days of self-isolation.

- St. John’s Enters ‘Circuit Breaker’
- New restrictions after increase in daily case count earlier this week.
- All group activities are suspended.
- Retail stores, malls and personal services can remain open, restaurants can remain open at 50% capacity.
- Gatherings are limited to 20 people.
- Closed: Bars, gyms, recreational facilities, cinemas.

- Retail at 75% capacity.
- Fitness at 75% capacity with 3m spacing.
- Event spaces at 50% capacity.
- Spectators are allowed at sports games and performances.

- Alberta Restaurants and Gyms Reopen – Step 1 of plan to ease restrictions
- Restaurants, cafés and pubs can now reopen for dine-in services.
- One-on-one individual and one-on-one household training is now permitted for indoor fitness activities.
- Further restriction relaxation will be considered on Feb 28th if hospitalizations are declining and below 450.
