As we countdown to Congress 2019, we salute the inspirational leaders who joined TIAC’s spearheaded initiative to advance women in tourism, as co-signatories to the Catalyst Accord 2022 - Accelerating the Advancement of Women. 

In this edition, we salute: 

Carol Alderdice President & CEO Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick TIANB

“Tourism is a lot more than a summer job. It is a very satisfying and gratifying career and we need to encourage our young women to get into this industry. Tourism offers many promotion opportunities within a very short time period. We have many examples of Women in Tourism with accomplishments to be proud of.”

Carol Alderdice Biography

Carol is currently the President and CEO of the Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick. She joined the organization in June 2018.

Carol is fluently bilingual and has a varied background in Marketing and Communications with a little IT added to the mix. She worked at Nortel Networks, Headquartered in Brampton, Ontario for 20 years in a variety of Corporate and Marketing positions.

Carol returned to her native New Brunswick in 2002 and started working as a senior manager with the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture in 2004.

About the Catalyst Accord:

The Catalyst Accord 2022 calls on Canadian boards and CEOs to pledge to accelerate the advancement of women in business through these actions:

1. Increase the average percentage of women on boards and women in executive positions in corporate Canada to 30% or greater by 2022.
2. Share key metrics with Catalyst for annual benchmarking of our collective progress.
