U.S visits were up 2.2% from November 2017, and saw a year-to-date increase of 1.2% from the same period last year.
International visits were down 3.6% November to November, but saw a YTD increase of 1.7% from 2017.
Of Canada’s key markets, Mexico saw the healthiest surge with a 27.6% increase from November 2017 and 11.2% YTD. We also saw strong month to month boosts from other markets like France (11.3%), China (10%), and Brazil (35.5%)
However, we should note that Japan saw a 29.7% drop from the previous November and a YTD decrease of 19.4% over 2017.
In good news, the results show that in the first eight months of 2018, Canada welcomed a record 14.8 million international tourists. This is an increase of 1.5% over the same period in 2017.
These numbers bode well for year-end as we hope to see another record setting year when December numbers are released. Stay tuned!
