Wine Growers of Canada (WGC) is the national voice of wine in Canada, created in 1967 as the Canadian Wine Institute. WGC represents large, medium and small wineries across Canada. WGC member wineries are responsible for over 90% of all wine produced in Canada including 100% Canadian, Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA) wines and International-Canadian Blended (ICB) wine products.

WGC brings together our membership to advocate on public policy initiatives by working cooperatively with governments and other stakeholders to find solutions that benefit both society and the entire Canadian wine industry.

The Canadian wine market remains strong, supported by a continuing growth in consumption as Canadians’ alcohol beverage of choice. The sales and marketing efforts of Canadian vintners will continue to drive wine sales through all of our trade channels, including estate wineries, provincial and territorial liquor boards, private retail outlets, licensed establishments, and wine agencies. Each year and every vintage provides an opportunity to launch new products that will contribute to industry growth across all price points in the Canadian wine market.
