Built in 1808, the Morrin Centre housed the first municipal jail — parts of which remain virtually intact to this day. In 1868, the building was converted into the Morrin College, which also housed the library of the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec.
Come experience this National Historic Site which includes; 19th-century jail cells. Take in the beauty of the delightful College Hall, 19th century chemistry lab and discover one of the only English-language libraries in the city. We offer guided tours for individuals, adult and school groups of all ages as well as cultural events and room rentals within our beautifully restored building.
