As we welcome the return of spring – and with it the international visitors so critical to Canada’s tourism economy – there is no better time than now to celebrate our industry and the progress we have achieved. That’s why we are bringing back national Tourism Week, our annual invitation to all tourism partners to come together to champion and promote Canada’s destinations, tourism businesses, and employees; from coast to coast to coast. 

This year’s weeklong celebration will take place April 24-30, 2023, and will once again highlight the economic importance and cultural significance of our industry. Not only is tourism a key driver to Canada’s prosperity, generating 1 in 10 jobs in the country and $105 billion to GDP (pre-pandemic), but it plays a pivotal role in exporting our values abroad – diversity, equality, inclusion, and multiculturalism.

All that and more is what we aimed to capture in choosing this year’s theme – Canada: Powered by Tourism! As we stand poised on the brink of the first peak travel season without pandemic-related border restrictions, please help us shine a spotlight on Canada as the welcoming and vibrant travel destination that it is. That we truly are.
