 ss for event professionals who want to rethink, reimagine, and redefine 
 how their events are designed and delivered, and how their businesses ar
 e run.\n\nDuring this dynamic and fun course we will explore case studie
 s and learn new approaches on how to organise events that have a smaller
  environmental footprint and greater societal handprint regenerating com
 munities, nature and the local economies of Canada.\n\nWe will review ke
 y concepts of sustainability, and go beyond to explore regenerative deve
 lopment principles, and how these can help you make your events, organis
 ations and communities thrive and flourish.\n\nThrough a series of 5 mod
 ules, participants will:\n\n* Strategy: Learn key principles, and a fram
 ework for regenerative and sustainable event management\n\n* Tactics: Fe
 el inspired and empowered to develop a sustainable and regenerative even
 t Plan: Including key operational themes such as climate, food, diversit
 y and circularity\n\n* Impact: Have new skills and a methodology to be a
 ble to amplify your event’s positive impacts, and measure your footpri
 nt and handprint.\n\n* Storytelling: Be able to improve your event’s a
 nd organisation’s sustainability communications and messages, and avoi
 d greenwashing\n\n* Present: Develop and present an end of course projec
 t, receiving feedback from the faculty and your peers. (Optional module)
 \n\nThis course is for people who organise events or offer key services 
 to the events industry including: convention centres and special event v
 enues, hotel event teams, Corporate/Association/3rd party planners, DMCs
 /PCOs, A/V & production agencies, catering/F&B, DMO/CVB - MICE and event
  teams, governmental institutions and academia.\n\n \n\n-- Module 1: Re
 generative Business: An introduction --\n\nDescription: The COVID-19 pan
 demic has had profound human and economic consequences on the tourism an
 d events sector, challenging the industry’s resilience and future. The
  events industry is undergoing proud change and we are in a major transi
 tion. Explore and learn an approach that acts within planetary boundarie
 s, rebuilds society, and regenerates nature. This session will take you 
 on a journey of learning about regeneration - a strategic approach on ho
 w to set vision, purpose, and goals with regeneration in mind. Finally w
 e will explore case studies from around the world and share our collecti
 ve experiences.\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\n* Learn about regenerative princ
 iples, living system thinking and nature based innovation\n\n* Be able t
 o articulate the key concepts of regenerative thinking and how it differ
 s to sustainability\n\n* Learn a methodology to help you redesign and im
 plement events and organisations that reduce footprints and deliver grea
 ter positive impact \n\n \n\n-- Module 2: Implementing Regeneration an
 d Sustainability --\n\nDescription: In this Module we will unpack the th
 eory of module one and explore tactical approaches around the concepts o
 f circular economy, climate strategies and regenerative food for the eve
 nt industry and supply chain.\n\n* Circularity: we will provide a view o
 f the Tsunami of change and growing demand that is happening globally ar
 ound plastic, single-use materials, resource management and the circular
  economy.\n\n* Food: we will explore theory and techniques behind using 
 food as a force for good implementing food concepts that reduce environm
 ental footprints and support the local communities\n\n* Climate - With t
 ourism contributing 8% to global emissions, the tourism and events secto
 r has to pay increasing and urgent attention to what it can do to reduce
  them. There are many great initiatives and motivation from net zero tar
 gets, to the Paris Agreement, and the Glasgow Declaration. But what does
  it all mean? How do your reduce and drawdown your carbon and offset it?
 \n\nLearning outcomes:\n\n* Gain insight on tactical approaches on how t
 o develop regenerative solutions based on circular economy and net zero 
 principles\n\n* Learn about regenerative food concepts based on case stu
 dies from around the world\n\n* Be better able to align business goals a
 nd actions to deliver more regenerative events\n\n \n\n-- Module 3: Foo
 tprints to Handprints: Strategy, measurement and communication of Impact
  --\n\nDescription: Currently, only a small number of event producers an
 d suppliers have clearly defined impact strategies for their events, usi
 ng outcomes and indicators to monitor how they create value for the comm
 unity beyond their event participants. In this session you will explore 
 how you can leverage your sustainability efforts to enable you to develo
 p a proactive approach to amplify your positive contributions to nature 
 and society. We will look at how you can develop an impact-focused strat
 egy allowing you to create, measure and communicate event impacts.\n\nLe
 arning Outcomes:\n\n* Learn basic concepts of social impact theory and p
 rinciples for events\n\n* Understand how you could be measuring and comm
 unicating your event impact\n\n* Explore what kind of opportunities coul
 d be generated by developing an impact-focused approach for your own bus
 iness\n\n \n\n-- Module 4: Storytelling --\n\nDescription: You have exp
 lored theory, discovered new frameworks and reviewed many great case stu
 dies. Now how do you communicate your sustainability commitment and effo
 rts in a way that engages, inspires and empowers event attendees and you
 r team to change behaviours and support your work?\n\nLearning Objective
 s:\n\n* Learn an 8 step approach to regenerative storytelling\n\n* Be ab
 le to improve your event’s and organisation’s sustainability communi
 cations and messaging, and avoid greenwashing\n\n* Get prepared for the 
 end of course project (optional)\n\n \n\n-- Module 5: Follow Up: Coachi
 ng Sessions (optional) --\n\nDescription: Based on the learning from the
  course, participants will be invited to develop an end of course projec
 t for a real event they are organizing or a regenerative project for the
 ir organization. In this session, participants will present their projec
 t to peers and the faculty, and obtain feedback to improve its implement
