Membership Made Simple
One Renewal Date. Clear Value. No Guesswork.
Starting January 1, 2027, all Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) memberships will follow a simple January–December cycle—aligned with how organizations plan, budget, and operate.
Why This Change Matters
This new approach brings clarity and consistency across the entire membership.
What you gain:
- Predictable renewal timing
- Simplified budgeting and approvals
- Alignment with industry peers
- A more transparent membership experience
No more tracking individual renewal dates—everything runs on one clear annual cycle.
How It Works
| ✔ One Annual Renewal Date
All memberships renew on January 1 each year. |
✔ Fair Prorating for Renewing Members
During the transition in 2026–2027, the cost of renewing memberships will be adjusted to reflect the time remaining in the calendar year. This proration ensures members are charged fairly for the length of their membership. |
✔ Consistent Across Membership Types
The change applies to both Regular and Associate Memberships. |
Transition Timeline & Payment – What You Need To Know
For memberships that expire before July 1, 2026:
- No change needed: Members should renew on their anniversary date as normal for a full year.
For memberships that expire July 1–December 31, 2026:
Starting on July 1, 2026, we will begin transitioning memberships to the new annual cycle.
- The change: Members will renew on their anniversary date as usual but will pay an adjusted price for the cost up to December 31, 2026.
- Then, starting January 1, 2027, members will renew and pay for one full year of membership.
- This ensures alignment for all members starting January 1, 2027.
Starting January 1, 2027:
- For memberships up for renewal in 2027 (those who renewed in 2026 BEFORE July 1): These members will pay an adjusted price for the cost of membership up to December 31, 2027.
- Then by January 1, 2028, all members will be on the calendar year cycle and pay the annual rate.
For new members who join at any point throughout the year:
- New members will pay a prorated price upon joining for the remainder of the calendar year, then renew on January 1 at the full annual price.
Our Commitment to You
- You keep 100% of the value you’ve paid for.
- You don’t pay any extra costs.
- Prorating the cost of membership is consistent and based on the amount of time left in the calendar year.
- We take care of the invoicing and schedule, so your experience is as smooth as possible.
