Business Event of the Year Award

The Business Event Award will recognize a corporate event, association and/or incentive Canadian event that has enhanced the profile/awareness and appeal of the destination they are held in, as well as created economic impact, increased visitation, and community involvement.

The Business Event of the Year Award recognizes a Canadian corporate, association, or incentive event that has enhanced the profile of the destination in which it was (or is) held and has had positive economic and social impact on the community.

Instructions

Judging Criteria

• Commitment to delegate, exhibitor, and participant experience (20%)
  Demonstrates a strong focus on delivering a high-quality, professional experience through thoughtful programming, content relevance, accessibility, logistics, and overall satisfaction for attendees, exhibitors, and partners. Attracts both national and international delegates.
• Commitment to growth, innovation, and industry advancement (20%)
  Shows evidence of ongoing evolution through program development, thought leadership, innovation, or knowledge exchange that advances the sector or profession the event serves.
• Economic impact generated during the event (20%)
  Generates measurable economic activity for the host community through delegate and exhibitor spending, venue utilization, accommodations, transportation, and local services during the event period.
• Contribution to year-round tourism and business development (20%)
  Demonstrates the event’s role in enhancing the host destination’s profile, driving repeat visitation, future business events, or sustained economic activity beyond the event dates. Amplifies the reputation of the destination as a business events destination.
• Social, cultural, or industry impact on Canada or the host community (20%)
  Creates meaningful impact through workforce development, education, inclusion, sustainability, community engagement, or long-term benefits for the industry or host region.
